5th Scream - Digital Painting Contest
This is my entry in the Adobe "5th Scream" contest.

I always understood "Scream" as an expression of deep terror. With a kind of alien characters looming in the distance, the source of the anxiety to me always felt more internal rather than external. The character screamed in fear or worry, surrounded by imposing landscape. I focused on the similiar aspect - a mute, schizofrenic shriek, the man falling to pieces, all of it in the silent, indifferent majesty of nature.

I always adored Munch. In 2007, I drew my self-portrait as an homage to "Scream" during my studies. Now, 10 years later, I had a great opportunity to revisit the subject using Adobe's digitally recreated brushes used by The Master himself.

Quick variations on "Scream" in Adobe Sketch.

Reference photos of myself used in the process of planning the painting.

"Infections", my latest digital painting cycle heavily influenced my current approach to the "Scream".

The painting process brakedown.

Thank you for watching and thank you to Adobe for providing us with Munch's digitalised brushes. Cheers!
