The 5th Scream of nature

My entry for the Munch Contest (#munchcontest) using Adobes digital recreation of Munchs original brushes in Photoshop.

Munch made 4 versions of The Scream. He described his inspiration like this:

"One evening I was walking along a path, the city was on one side and the fjord below. I felt tired and ill. I stopped and looked out over the fjord — the sun was setting, and the clouds turning blood red. I sensed a scream passing through nature; it seemed to me that I heard the scream. I painted this picture, painted the clouds as actual blood. The color shrieked. This became The Scream."

My 5th Scream tells the sad story of natures destruction and the great part of humanity who ignores the truth and the seriousness of the situation in time to avoid the ultimate catastrophe.
When Munchs 2nd Scream was exhibited in Denmark in 1904, one of the museum guests wrote with pencil in the sky of the painting "This was painted by a mad man". I used this rather cruel and stupid act from someone clearly not acknowledging Munchs genius, to express a humble statement in memory for the great artist.

This has been a very interesting and joyful experience for me as it is the first time I try to paint with non-traditional media. It will certainly not be my last attempt - thank you Adobe and Kyle for the brushes! It has been really fun to participate :)
