Final Project - Vector Clock

This is my final project in my final year of studying Graphic Design, I essentially designed a new clock, but read the further description.

This design or device is an exploration into a potential new way of visualizing time. This concept is not aimed necessarily at becoming globally applicable however exists as a visually pleasing alternative to the traditional three handed or digital clock. My hand in includes a manual that will explain how my clock design works, focusing on the three main design aspects and how they relate to the telling of time. These three aspects are the colour, black outer dots and the central coloured dots. The colours of the central section of the clock distinguish AM and PM. AM has a colour range from yellow to red, reflecting the warmth and light of the sun during the day. PM has a colour range from blue to black, representing the coolness and darkness of night-time. There are 30 coloured dots in the centre section of the clock, each representing a minute of each half an hour. The clock has to go through two rotations for every hour. For every rotation of the 30 dots or minutes a half circle or half an hour is added to the outer ring. When another cycle is completed another half is added forming a complete black circle and hence making an hour. There are 12 black dots for both AM and PM.
I have mocked up how it may look like in a circle clock frame which may help people familiarise themselves with the fact that it is a clock. And finally I produced a series of cue cards which show the the clock on one side and the actual time on the back, this is aimed to try and help people understand how the clock works.
