Crime Stoppers of Houston opened the doors to its new Dave Ward Building in January of 2017. Named for legendary ABC13 anchor Dave Ward, the three-story 28,000-square-foot facility at 3001 Main Street in Midtown will serve as a hub for centralized Crime Stoppers operations, staff, volunteers, law enforcement, safe community/safe school programming and media outreach teams.
The organization behind the project approached Skyline Art Services to create a history wall that highlights Dave's life from start to his retirement in 2016. The client specifically wanted a "scrap book" feel, and as a result we considered dynamic layouts, color, and depth through substrate selections. Its a combination of these things that help create a visually compelling story that both fit the client's artistic needs as well as a sophisticated refined whimsy that we wanted to portray.
