Project
In collaboration with the Hirshhorn's exhibition and curatorial staff, Christine Lefebvre Design developed the graphics for Markus Lüpertz: Threads of History. CLD designed the entrance graphic and timeline, didactic graphics, exterior posters advertising the exhibition, and additional print collateral.

Client
Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, DC

Dates
On view May 24 through September 10, 2017

ENTRANCE and TIMELINE  The entrance didactic and title lock-up were intentionally minimal in design; the design played against and pointed to the compelling artwork in the gallery beyond. To the right of the exhibition entrance was located a detailed timeline of Lüpertz's life and times. The minimal design presented a lot of information with clarity and succinctness.

DIDACTICS  Design of the section and artwork didactics followed that of the entrance didactic: minimal and succinct, and also aligned with the museum's branding.

ADVERTISING  CLD designed two exterior posters to advertise the exhibition. They were displayed outside the museum's entrance on the National Mall in Washington, DC.
