KSWS, Cambodian protected area - LOGO
The brief was to design a new logo for the Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary, an important Cambodian protected area. Here the brief how the promoter introduced to the competitors.
"Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary (KSWS) is a 3000km2 protected area in eastern Cambodia, South East Asia. Home to more than 500 species, Seima hosts the world’s largest population of the endangered black-shanked douc langur, as well as globally important populations of yellow-cheeked crested gibbons, Germain’s silvered langur, Asian elephants, and bird species such as green peafowl, Germain’s peacock pheasant, bar-bellied pitta and orange-necked partridge. The landscape is forested, with rolling hills. The climate is comparatively cool.
We would like a logo that is:
Distinct in reports, posters, and signboards.
Reproducible on t-shirts, caps, etc.
Effective at capturing the importance of KSWS – wildlife, and forests.
Effective, as far as possible, cross-culturally.
The logo should contain the following:
Vector graphics of at least one animal species, preferably the black-shanked douc langur.
If possible, include some reference to trees – e.g. in the background, or supporting animals.
The English text “Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary” (without quotes) and the equivalent in Khmer script: ដែនជម្រកសត្វព្រៃកែវសីមា, or at least a place holder for such text to be added."
Finally I don't win the contest, but I'm very satisfied of my working.
In my opinion the Logo #1 is the best option because it's simple and focus the user attention just on three elements: the money, the forest and the typography. The promoter likes more than the others the Logo #2 option C.
