A mock-up project to feature a traditional Japanese matcha tea (抹茶) making family. With an urge to transit into the modern society and ultimately, the world market, they decide to incorporate new style while maintaining their tradition in tea and culture.
The incorporation of kanji design into the well-known Japanese family crest (家紋) vividly resembles the kanji character for tea (茶).
First: Toppan Bunkyu Midashi Gothic
Second: font design to imitate the first
Third: logo design to imitate the second
Business cards cater to both Japanese and English-speaking clients
The package designs feature much of the characters with the goal of their family business
