LIFE CYCLE broaches the issue of life and death on Earth. The infographic gives the viewer the opportunity to compare the life expectancy of various creatures to the average human lifespan of 80 years. The infographic centres on the human being and visualises a total of 35 creatures, each with a unique life expectancy.

LIFE CYCLE was designed using a method called ‘Visual Embellishment’, a process which combines visual and auditive elements to create an advanced level of communication, without any direct relation to the visualized data. Floral patterns that respond to the infographic’s melody enhance the viewer’s engagement in a meditative way. The infographic, based on a real-time Processing sketch, was presented as a projection in a public space. Running throughout the whole day, the infographic was reset each morning.
