1984 by George Orwell.

I was halfway through the book when I decided to make this book cover.

Even though the world it's set in is stark and dry, while reading it I found it language quite lively and vaguely satirical - far from the the dark and intensely grim image that is painted about it. So I designed the book cover with this experience in mind.

Also I find simple flat design very attractive.

This is a slightly altered version.

It's visual effect is quite plain and boring - kind of like the world Big Brother wants you to live in. 

YET he still doesn't like the content and hence does not approve of it!
