Into Earth's abyss:
Mammoth Cave

This semester-long project involved creating an identity for a UNESCO World Heritage Site of our choice, and then applying it to a number of deliverables. As the world’s most extensive cave system, Mammoth Cave in Kentucky appealed to me personally as I’ve enjoyed a fair amount of recreational cave exploration.

Within the depths of caves lies a world of perpetual blackness.

While the invention of artificial lighting allows Mammoth Cave to be explored by sight, the eerie shadows are a constant reminder that the underground is a dark place. Reflecting this, the visual identity is relatively simple and makes frequent use of dark backgrounds.
