Arctica is a Mixed Media painting that is in the series "Sol Invictus."
This painting explores the relationship of deep waters, red earth and ice and how these
elements are affected by the light of the sun.
Rivers of water and minerals interact with the melting ice and warming temperatures.
The colors mimic that which is seen in the arctic regions of the earth, neither
north or south but within the circles of these areas - where the sun also creates
the borealis in the heavens, making the light spread across the sky in long waves of
moving lightwaves which is also picked up in the effects of the paint.
The piece is signed on the lower left "Swink."
