Moscow summer 2017 most realistic archviz: Rzhevskaya metro station stormy mood
The discussion of the three new metro stations design in Moscow is still heated, and we want to write about it with only a two-week delay). There turned out to be not only our friends among the winners but also clients with a few of our visualizations. Hip-hip!
So, whom to be proud of on these rainy summer days:
1. «Blank ARCHITECTS» bureau made the best project of Rzhevskaya station
2. «MAP ARCHITECTS» bureau made the best project of Stromynka station (hooray to Alexandr Poroshkin!)
3. «Al ARCHITECTS» bureau made the best project of Sheremetyevskaya station
In terms of architecture, Metro project is terribly interesting because besides being a public facility, it is also a transport hub with a huge passengers’ transportation. It means that every metro station is used by tens of thousands of people every day. Winning tender for a metro station design is very cool and it’s a big victory for architects.
It is for Rzhevskaya metro station that we did a few pictures. The project was developed by «Blank ARCHITECTS» company. We also made visualizations for them for the Blueprint competition in Genova.
Both visualizations of Rzhevskaya Metro station exits are overcast with dark clouds and rain-wet asphalt. As it turned out, this is the most realistic supply this summer)
The winners were chosen in two stages. At the first stage, for each metro station, a jury of experienced professionals in the urban, architectural and transport environment selected 3 finalists from all submitted works. After that, there was an online poll on the website for Moscow citizens "Active citizen". A total of 221 692 people voted for the projects for Rzhevskaya station. 37% percent chose the «Blank Architects» project and their concept of a "portal to the city".
The main architectural element of the project is an arch. It accentuates the entrance to the ground pavilion and is repeated in the platform design. The pavilion of the entrance to the station is partly transparent, so as not to obstruct the view to Rizhskaya railway station and in order to fit into the surroundings neatly and harmoniously. The station will have two halls with exits to Rzhevskaya platform and Rizhskaya Square. Recently, a new public transport ring was opened in Moscow - MCC (Moscow Central Circle). And Rzhevskaya station will become its transfer and will be the nearest one to the center.
By the way, the station's interior will look like this:
The main aim was to navigation intuitively and also to divide passengers’ flows.
Of course not all the project that we make visualizations for reach implementation. But this time we believe that it will be built for sure. We look forward to seeing a new station in 2020 and taking a photo of it surrounded by clouds and Moscow rain!
