Encore Montréal
The illustrations
Created with Adobe Illustrator, these simple illustrations are framed in a square shape which constrains the design area requiring a massive simplification of the elements within each piece of art. Style consistency is created by a limited colour palette and the Loogart style that marries thick black lines with circular anchors.
Montreal City (top left): French language, Habs, Orange Julep, St-Joseph Oratory, Montreal businesses, Farine Five Roses, University of Montreal, Music and comedy festivals, Mount-Royal, STM, Distinct housing style (Plateau, Mile End), Montreal restaurants, bicycles, Biosphere, Olympic Stadium, Cirque du Soleil, everlasting construction, St-Lawrence River.
Little Italy (top right): Italien Flag, Jarry Park, Baseball, Italien cars, Arch at the entrance of Little Italy, Jean-Talon Market, Madonna della Difesa Church, Firefighter museum.
Mile-End District (top left): Water Tower, Housing style in Mile-End, Saint-Viateur Bagels, Ubisoft offices, St-Michael Church, small restaurants and bars, the best coffee shops.
Le Plateau Area (top right): French flag, parks, housing style in the area, green chairs outside the Mount-Royal Metro station, Tam tam music, Mount-Royal, Mount-Royal Cross, awesome breakfast spots, angel statue on Parc Avenue.
Saint-Henri (top left): McAuslan Brewery, McAuslan terraces with music, Saint-Ambroise beers, bicycles, Lachine Canal, crossing bridges, Gruman green trucks, Sir Georges Etienne Cartier park and its fountain.
Griffintown (top right): New City Gas Night club, Joe Beef, modern condos, ETS University, Burgundy Lion, Lachine Canal, Bell Centre, Hockey Farine Five Roses.
The Village (top left): Pink balls suspended in the air, Pride colours/flags, Beaudry Metro station with its unique design, multiple terraces and restaurants during the Summer season, red bar artistic installation.
Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Area (top right): Insectarium, Botanical Garden, Olympic Stadium, Olympic Tower, Hochelaga Yard (trains + containers), Planetarium, old houses vs. new condos being built to renew the area, Maisonneuve Market.
Limited Edition Products
A limited run of products will be made through the Bref x Loogart collaboration which you can buy at the Gallery. This includes prints (framed or not), t-shirts, stamps, glass mugs, postcards.
