The Biscuit Block Hotel

The objective of this building transformation was to convert an old, completely empty industrial warehouse, into a commercial hotel for workers travelling to Calgary, Canada for business matters. The new hotel (3600m2 worth of 5 floors) includes amenities such as 32 guest rooms, a public restaurant/bar, a café, working lounge, meeting rooms and a gym/yoga studio.

My design was inspired by the Grand Budapest Hotel, a film by the talented Wes Anderson. Combining methods using warm pink tones, contrasting along a deep navy blue, and adding brass detailing all around the hotel, the final product reveals a chic modern deco warehouse transformation.
