Leslie Griesdorf was born and raised in Toronto, spending his childhood as part of a working-class family that often times struggled just to make ends meet. Leslie Griesdorf attended Grace Street Public School before completing his tenure at McMurich Public School. He then enrolled at Oakwood Collegiate, which he attended from 1959 to 1964.
