I've been invited to be part of a collective exposure of pictures during the summer music festival FARM, in Alberobello, south of Italy.
I was just back from a Sicilian short holiday where I’d seen firsthand the arrival of hundreds of migrants saved by the sea. In the same period I listened to a lot of Iosonouncane, a great Italian songwriter who tackles the issues of immigration. Some of his lyrics speak of the indifference by parts of the Italian population to the death of those who never landed on the Italian coasts.
These pictures were shot in Sicily during those days and have been forcefully interpreted in post production to reproduce that feeling I discovered in a lovely Sicilian summer.
