iTunes Miniplayer Redesign | UX/UI Project

iTunes Miniplayer Redesign | UX/UI Project
This project that began in late June was based around the idea of redesigning the iTunes miniplayer window, by the use a minimalistic style that would remove all button-related elements, in an attempt to encourage Mac users to use the keyboard controls more frequently.

The visual style in this project is based on the flat non-skeuomorphic look that Apple have been using on Mac OS systems, since the introduction of OS X Yosemite in October of 2014.

The final outcome was a simple rounded design that would only display the artist, song name, and album, along with the option to display the visualizer, as well as airplay the track or share the track itself on many social media platforms.

The display mockups for this project are based on being able to view the final outcome from a short distance on an iMac display, as well as a being shown what each part of the design serves to do by the way of “lined guides”.

So, be sure to tell me what you think in the comment section below!
