IGLU | Windscreen Deicer

The form was refined with consideration of feasible technology and functionality. This was achieved through rapid sketching, foam modelling & scenario sketching. This led to the creation of Iglu; a conceptual design for a new connected device to defrost your car and improve winter morning commutes.

Functionality

Iglu utilizes a suction clamp and four soft touch feet which mold to the interior of your windscreen. Ultrasonic vibration travels through the feet, transcending into the glass to remove ice. Gentle heat dissipates through the venting to warm the interior and aid with the deicing process.

To secure Iglu in position, press down on the upper dome until the device locks in place. This sucks Iglu to your interior windscreen securing the device.

A Connected Device

Press the power button to turn the device on and off manually. The device can be recharged via USB c3. To remove the Iglu device from your windscreen, pull the tag on the side of the device. Iglu connects to your smart phone, allowing the device to learn your morning routines. An internal temperature sensor and WiFi chip allows the device to detect the onset of frost, using your alarms to deice the moment you wake up.

A dynamic user interface defrosts as Iglu de-ices and warms your car. Iglu also alerts you of weather warnings, with the aim of improving your morning commutes.

Thanks for taking the time to view my work.
