Part 1

Portraits in abandoned casino "Split"

Despites I've lived in Kharkiv since my birth, only two months ago I saw this building for the first time. I saw pieces of graffiti through the broken windows and I realized that I want my pictures to be there.

It was strong desire, I was thrilled.. Shock and awe) Because I've never painted on the walls without permission.. Oh, maybe once with my friends graffiti artists) But it was the first time when I started to paint alone.. just me, wall and paint..

So I've decided to teach myself how to draw portraits on the walls in this building. When I was a student in Art Academy, my specialization there was Book graphics, and I draw portraits, of course.. a lot. But I was never satisfied with their academic look and was never really tried my best to do them really similar to models.

I've started with small round on the wall, just to feel the wall and figure out how much paint do I need for such surface — the first it was wall from burnt bricks.

I trained first on my kitchen wall the day before start))
It took me 10 minutes cause I'm really feel the space acrylic technique after painting my room https://goo.gl/CrCG8u
The first portrait. Sasha. Flamenco dancer and teacher, successful head of sales department, gorgeous woman..
I overpainted her for 5 times) because can't get used to this bricks and size..
The second one. Jenya. My really shiny friend, so inspirable and self-motivated person.. I wish we make that projects we've planned with her some day..

The third and the fourth. Me and Yana. It was really good day: it tooks me 1 hour to express Yana's image, and about 3 hours for self-portrait..)
The fifth. #Oxxxymiron, the way I discovered him. Powerful modern poet, russian rapper..
Gif with a process
For the current moment, only one portrait is still existing in the way I drew it, Yana's: most of them were destroyed, overpainted, scratched by someone who wanted to express his emotions too) It happens )
to be continued..
