Around July 2016, I was contacted by Jaimie P, a producer, composer, and film scorer, to illustrate the cover for her EP, "... Of Water Lilies and Lullabies" which was her first electronic ambient track. I almost fell off my chair, overjoyed and thrilled to illustrate a cover for an EP for the first time.
The main concept of the illustration is about a ballerina coming out of a waterlily music box. Aside from this, the client gave me the artistic freedom to do what I think would look best for the illustration. I first presented her the pose I was planning to use then sent two (2) studies of the main composition of the artwork.
I proceeded to rendering and changing some of the colors from the original study. I went with a watercolor art feel to blend with the calm, dream - like state of the EP's music
