Shift Paint brush
The paint brush Shift is the result of my BFA final thesis. It is based out of ergonomics and developed in collaboration with professionals and Färggrossen i Nybro AB. The angulation of the shaft is the caracter and function of the brush. With different grip it allows the user to flexibly vary how the Shift meets surfaces.

I made three series of mock-ups. The picture shows an excerpt from the second series.
I let proffesional painters evaluate the grip and comfort. I found two different grips that were used most frequent by the painters. In order to improve the ergonomics, I choose to create a dynamic grip which allows the user to change his or her position during work. This would reduce the static movements in painting.
