Angel in the House Dress

Angel in the House Dress front.  
Angel in the House is part of a series of digitally-printed and draped dresses inspired by paintings.  The painting that inspired this dress is called “House” by Larry Rushing larryrushingart.com.  On Photoshop the pattern was mirrored horizontally and scaled vertically with a gradation from small on top to large at the bottom. The woven cotton percale fabric was then digitally printed.   The dress silhouette was fashioned with Julian Robert’s alternative patternmaking system called “Subtractive Patternmaking“.  Finishing included areas of the print being folded and stitched in tiny tucks for emphasis at the center front of the dress (see detail)
