SKYHIGH FOUNDATION

This work was completed for an academic project. The client is a fictitious non-for-profit organisation supporting the advancement of the arts, music and performing arts, with a particular focus on unknown emerging artists. Our brief was to design a corporate identity for the organisation that conveyed integrity, excellence and strength. The specifications stipulated that the client wanted to avoid colours such as orange, brown and green and the use of music paper motifs. The client wanted the brand to convey the following key messages - sophistication, quality, distinction, progression, contemporary, educated, timeless, intellectual, forward, classic, elegant, refined, feminine, light and professional. The inspiration from this design comes from the unique shape the f-hole in a violin. This shape has been combined with an S for Skyhigh. I’ve used stencil serif typeface for the S, to reflect the elegance and sophisticated nature of the brand. The typeface Din is used for its clear readability and modern style. The secondary serif typeface represents the brand’s classic and professional voice. The logo has an elegant and timeless tone, but is also adaptable enough to evolve over time. My own original artwork ads another layer to the brand highlighting its contemporary and progressive nature. The artwork was achieved by painting acrylic paint over glass and overlaying cartridge paper, the result is a unique and bold identity. The artwork can be changed over time to keep the brand fresh and modern.
