Popolizio Family Crest

For my family crest, I implemented important aspects of my family in simple designs to not overcrowd the crest and make it interesting to look at. I made a snowflake to symbolize how my family comes from the Northeast, and we travel there often. I created dog tags  and put them in the crest because we have 2 dogs that are a major part of my family's daily life. I created the Arizona flag at the bottom to both symbolize that my family lives in Arizona and, using the single star, symbolize that we are the only people out of both sides of my family that live in Arizona. I added the 2000 under the star to symbolize when our family was created. I also adjusted the shape of the crest from the three section crest I based it off of. In the one I used for inspiration, the lines bordering the bottom section were slanted upward, but I made it slanting downward to create an arrow. This arrow points to the Arizona flag and the star, symbolizing how the things above have been shaped and incorporated into what my family is now.

Sketches
Inspiration
I saw a crest that was divided into three parts, and I liked the way it looked more than the traditional crest that is in quadrants. I also included the parts of my family that are most important to us, and after seeing crests that used very simple symbols to convey meaning, I implemented simple symbols into mine
