In this project we were assigned to explore typography in music, poems, creative writing, and scripture. For this project I chose to do a scripture from Ezekiel 37.
Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’” – Ezekiel 37:4-6

Page 2: I really wanted to create the imagery of breath in the composition and avoided using illustrations as much as I could. This class inspired me to explore typography in a way that type itself can be seen as an image or illustration.
Hand-lettering in pencil and ink before scanning and transferring on to Adobe Illustrator.
