Above can be seen the various phases of the illustration. The image was based on a 3-point perspective cube, on which was drawn a grid. After removing the exceeding lines, the color pallette was chosen so that the number 50 was the highlight, while the "podium" was more discrete.
After adding some texture and messing around with blending modes, this was the final result.
