Typoday Installation

This was a  project done for Typoday, Bangalore in collaboration with four other members. Typoday is a typograpic based event which takes place every year. In 2016 it was hosted by Srishti Institute of Art,design and Technology for which we designed an installation.
The installation spells out  TYPODAY  in three different scripts being Kannada, Devanagari and Latin. As the event was based on typography, we thought it was important to incorporate the local script of Karnataka. Inclusion of two other scripts brings about diversity as the event itself promotes the thought by bringing various people together on a platform. We used coloured acrylic sheets to create these letter forms. The letter forms, when placed in layers creates a certain amount of transparency which allows us to read one single letter in three different scripts.
