As my wedding was approaching I wanted to make a unique Thank you - gift for all the attendants. The idea had to be something small and that it would suit both men and women. I also wanted to incorporate Japanese culture into the design.
I was always interested in working with bamboo materials, because it is very new to me. I decided to make a bamboo pin out of bamboo strip. I have used this material before to make jewelry. I also wanted to see if I could engrave some interesting design to it, so it will become more interesting and unique.
The engraving and cutting was done by using ZING laser cutter. I did many tests to find the correct variables. Every pattern is unique and inspired by japan.
Finishing the pins took a lot more work than expected. Mostly sanding the pieces took some time. After that it was just to add the pin and a matte clear coating to keep the pin looking nicer longer.

To make everything look more professional I wanted to add packaging to the pins. I decided to use a bamboo drawing as it fits the theme of the jewelry.
I have finished 30 pieces but I still have around 50 to go. One day I am also hoping to be able to sell them for other people.
