BIG BobbyCar

A documentation of how one of Germany's most famous toys are made. 

On the 320.000m² large area work around 160 employees in three shifts in one of the most modern toy factories in Europe. More than 1 Mio. products are leaving the factory every year.

Hand polishing the final forms 
The red colored granules will be mixed with colorless plastic granules to create the plastic material base.
The red base material will be formed into a tube that is pressed between the two parts of the mould and inflated to form the chassis.
A robot arm take the chassis and smoothes all edges.
A worker checks all the chassis by hand and packs them into these cage boxes.
60 chassis can fit into a cage box and in the factory 1500 chassis can be produced per day.
In total the BobbyCar is made of 31 different parts. The customer just has to assemble the steering rod and steering wheel.
