The Odyssey & The Iliad

THE ODYSSEY & THE ILIAD
Homer
Translated by Samuel Butler

Can morality be defined? A sympathetic exploration of the Odyssey and Iliad stories, sharing common ground through a surreal visualisation of rock figures. The six rocks morph and transform with the story, visualising emotive changes and plot turns i.e. a section is broken off in the top rock of the Odyssey in which Telemachus searches for his missing father. The interplay of the acetate cover on paperback covers reflects the ambiguous morals of the main characters Achilles and Odysseus, forcing an alternate perspective of type and imagery. A reductive style and kettle stitched spine provides an alternate, tactile experience, providing an experimental experience easing the reader into Homer's acclaimed epic poems.
