GSA Year 3
Jewellery Design -> Design a contemporary set of jewellery for the younger market that can be worn at work, but also successfully combines to form a distinctive and eye-catching piece for an evening event.
My set of jewellery is made out of oxidised and brushed Sterling Silver gemmed with faceted Zirconia stones. The materials were chosen consciously as I was trying to make it match with most of the outfits. In order to do so, I kept the colour palette as simple as possible. Moreover, my goal was to make the set elegant yet affordable for the younger market.
'Reverse Flower' consists of a pendant and a pair of stud earrings. It can all be divided into two parts: inside, dedicated for wearing at work; and a bigger background, which can be added to make an impression during an evening event. The basic part is small, not to distract during the work but also to be comfortable to wear. The background, inspired by the shape of a poppy flower, is more ornamental and bigger, therefore eye-catching.
The title of my set came from the floral inspiration for the design. However, unlike nature, jewellery is showing its beauty in the whole creation mainly on special evening occasions.
