Bed Bugs / A Digitally Collaged Monoprints

Above were a series of zines that I designed to display my monoprints through an alternative platform.  The prints seen on the walls were scanned and warped to further abstract the content.  Text and imagery is combined throughout the zine to allude to the subject matter.

The monoprints are based on the female body, and the way they can be appreciated in a non-sexual way by other women.  Women have always been my main source of inspiration, and I wanted to show their beauty in a way that can't be sexualized.  The title 'Bed Bugs" was given to the zines to further push this statement.  Using text that might turn off a viewer contradicts the sexual nature of the imagery. The women I'm referencing are sexy whether they intend it or not, and I wanted to combine text and imagery to keep those hormones at bay.
