G'Day Melbourne Brand Identity

A hypothetical brand that provides useful information about the ins and outs of all things Melbourne. It is branded to cater primarily towards the international students that lives around Melbourne CBD. Personally, I felt that it would be great to have a one stop Facebook group/page to allow our target audience to gather and allow everyone to contribute to the group/page. This could also extend out to a website bringing information — accomodation, places to eat, hangout spots, events and festivals, etc.

The logo was a challenging one as there are many others that have attempted this idea and succeeded; aka Broadsheet. However, I wanted to create a visually appealing logo that would appeal to the younger generation — relatable and direct. Manifesting the idea of a good day in Melbourne, the logo clearly shows a sun and moon. The light rays that come out from the middle also symbolises the bustling nature of Melbourne city and it's alive both day and night.
