In 2017, the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology celebrated several anniversaries — 125 years since the Institute opened in Plön, 100 years since the Institute was inducted into the the Kaiser Wilhelm Society/Max Planck Society, and 10 years since the Institute was renamed to the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology.
As part of the activities and projects planned for Jubilee year, a celebratory calendar was prepared. Each month, some aspect of the history, research, and people from the institute were featured, along with beautiful historical and contemporary photos of Plön and the Institute, and interesting facts and quotes for each month.
