Concept
For this series, I wanted to create fashion images with a futuristic style and a pop of color. In order to do so, I've researched about what people are going to wear in the future and what kind of make-up they would put on. There're some different speculations about what people are going to wear in the future, some predict vaguely psychedelic superhero costumes or clothes with a shiny surface and a geometric look. I stuck with the idea of simple looking clothing, a little bit use of color on the eyes and on the lips and I wanted to show the geometric shapes with the way I've edited the images.
Process
The pictures have been edited in Adobe Photoshop CC and I'll explain to you how I've done it. The first thing I do is adjusting the sliders a bit where it's needed on my raw files in Photoshop. Then I start retouching the skin with the retouching technique Frequency Separation and I enhance facial features like the eyes or the lighter and darker areas of the face with Dodge & Burn. When that's done I also add adjustment layers like Curves, Gradients, Selective Color and Solid Color to give the image a different look. Finally, I added a reverse black and white Gradient layer to get this kind of negative photo idea and I masked out the different geometric shapes (by using masks you can nondestructively choose what you want to erase or add in your edit). That's how I've edited the images of Negative Spaces.
