The director of Arcadia came to me looking for a logo design for his new architecture firm. The brief was to create something bright and simple, and if possible to give a subtle visual nod to Greek history given the company's name.
I decided to use ITC Avant Garde Gothic for its simplicity and boldness. The typeface was also chosen as it allowed for me to subtly incorporate ancient Greek symbols. The first A is capitalized to represent Alpha the strike-through of negative space across the logo allows the lowercase A to replicate the Omega symbol.

A vibrant orange (Pantone 1585C) was chosen to boldly contrast with the colour palette associated with architectural materials such as cement, concrete and slate. The secondary typeface used is Akkurat.
