Ard Hoksbergen's profile

Barber Amsterdam

Interior Design
This project concerns the interior of a traditional shaving salon, housed in a 19th-century shop in the city center of Amsterdam.
For a raw, but warm atmosphere, mainly natural materials are used: a floor of old sawn floor beams, clay plaster, pine plates, leather and concrete.
The copper pipes, which like a giant cobweb are drawn throughout the interior, form the eyecatcher of the salon.

The shaving salon (www.barber.nl) is the first completed project of Ard Hoksbergen, who won the Dutch Archiprix in June 2012.
