The main goal was to unify designs of all 20 Rambler.ru projects such as Rambler News,
Rambler Travel, Rambler Finance
and so on
As all Rambler projects contained ad blocks of very
different formats it was quite a challenge to create
one common grid for all the websites.
Advertising should be visible in the first viewport, so
in the new grid we gave it a separate column. As you
see it goes to the right. And that was quite a good
decision to separate main content & ad in that way.
The content part of the grid consists of usual
12 columns.
Every Rambler project has its own icon which rhymes
graphically well with the main logo of the brand.
We have chosen Roboto font family by 2 reasons:
1. This font is narrow. And it works perfectly well with
long texts, especially on mobile devices.
2. The font is free. The website is visited by a very
large amount of people. So using free font allows
company to save a lot of money on the font licence.
After creating the concept of the main Rambler.ru
page we proceeded with designs for all other
19 sites. We redesigned every block for every project.
121 unique block
was made in total.
Including adaptive design.
We also developed aggregated navigation system
to all Rambler services.
