Launch: National Immunization Awareness Campaign

Launch of the National Immunization Awareness Campaign
Each year, half a million children under the age of 5 years and living in Lebanon get vaccinated. This year, Lebanon celebrates its 14th year being polio-free . With the aim of maintaining the country’s status and exceeding such achievements that contribute to Lebanon having a very low ratio of diseases, the Ministry of Public Health launched its 2017 national immunization awareness campaign under the slogan “Vaccination First” (الطعم قبل كل شي). In the months leading to the official launch, Soapbox Communications (in close collaboration with the Ministry) was in charge of conceiving the concept behind the nation-wide campaign and its implementation through the development of print and audio-visual material to be advertised. The Ministry’s campaign was officially launched during a press conference at the Grand Serail, and brought together representatives of the health sector as well as institutions such as the World Health Organization, the Unicef, the UNHCR, the European Union, and embassies of donor countries, local authorities and municipalities, primary healthcare centers, and a number of figures and media representatives.
