The actions from the start shows that the farmer is one of the main character character presented by an undershot until the German soldier showed up the farmer becomes worried because the Nazis were heading towards his house right after he sees them he tells his family to go inside making the scene very suspenseful.

The last line of the action showed Colonel Hans Landa letting one of the Jews live because he knows that the Jews are being captured and knowing that the Jew cant survive knowing that she is a threat in that time of the year so he didn't bother shooting her.
