After reading a short story of OLE AND TRUFA by Isaac Bashevis Singer, I liked it so much that I decided to embody my vision of its design in my diploma project. The author is Nobel Prize winning novelist and short-story writer. This is a piece of work full of love and wisdom that gives an answer to many questions. It got me to think about the system I live in and the negative perception of death in the Western context. That just gives me more reasons to get out and explore.
A story of Ole and Trufa is about the two remaining leaves, and these are the strongest. Hanging from a twig, they support and help each other to hang on through winds and storms. Unfortunately, one day the wind blows Ole from the tree and leaves Trufa grieving. However, Trufa eventually falls as well and finds that her new life has caused her fears and anxieties to vanish and that she has entered a new spiritual world. Although this story is about death and life after death, we too can find new ways of being if we allow the used baggage to fall away.
