Research on colours, their materialism and relativity.

We seldom experience pure colours without connection to a real object, therefore colours feel like something substantial. Paint is often seen as pure "liquid colour", but actually it is not. We do not think about that colours are not real, that they are just a product of co-work of our of senses and mind. In this project, the light interference effect is used to produce non-existing, ephemeral "colours without colours", to detach them from material world. Each single imprint is accidental and therefore unique.

The project consists of two parts: Stone and Paper, 3D and 2D. The effect can only be observed from certain viewpoints and with certain lighting, in this way objects interact and communicate with a viewer.

* Anlauffarben is a German word for the effect of light interference seen on metals.
