'SAY HI TO A STRANGER' BRANDING
'Say Hi To A Stranger' is a social movement started by A Cue Creative Consulting with a goal to dispel Vancouver's bad rap of being a cold city by sparking friendly conversations with warm hellos.
The movement ran three major campaigns from 2013 to 2015 during which the city was encouraged to say "hi" to strangers and either film or photograph the experience, or just talk about it on social media with the hashtag #sayhitoastranger. Social media was utilized as a tool to increase the chances of meeting new people.
The campaigns resulted in incredible local community engagement, thousands of uses of the campaign's hashtag, and mentions on social media. ‘Say Hi To A Stranger’ raised awareness about social isolation, and the lack of programs and places where people can easily meet and connect.
Daoutova Creative developed a Brand ID and engaging branded marketing materials that helped the movement connect with its audience on the emotional level, and encouraged participants to interact with others.
