During my stay in the village at Volta Region, I witnessed what I only hear in the news media. I had never seen pregnant students before, especially at their age and their academic class. If you have never witnessed this or been affected by it in any way, you might find it difficult to believe. But it is real. Poverty is real and it makes people do a lot of unbelievable things. When you have a situation where a granny who can't fend for herself bearing the responsibilities of taking care of six children of school going age, anything can go wrong. Especially if you have teenagers among them.
Who is to blame?
Parents or children?
Poverty or education?
or the government?
Or the religious beliefs and traditional morals that we hold in high esteem and yet the little one slip through and fall prey to teenage pregnancy.
Let us Educate the children about sex, let us be open to them.
