A Case of Vanity
TYPOGRAPHY

Client: ISTD (International Society of Typographic Designers) Submission - Fickle Fads

This publication was awarded a Commendation and membership to the ISTD.

Vanity case is a typographic exploration of body image and cosmetic fads. The publication is in the style of a clinical case file as many people who strive for the perfect body will undergo some form of cosmetic surgery. The publication is split into four sections with each section a different size which references the idea of a case file – a collation of documents – but the structure reflects the personalities of people who strive to have a perfect body as they are often perfectionists. The idea that body image is an ever-changing fad is highlighted through both the case file style and binding – as the file fastener allows the publication to be altered and added to whenever a new fad begins.
