Children's Safety Center Brand Refresh & Redesign

The Problem

Children's Safety Center is a Child Advocacy Center created to help prevent further trauma children might endure during the complex process of investigation, prosecution and treatments as a result of abuse. They needed updated branding and a new website that was simple, informative, easy to update and able to receive donations to help fund the work that they do for children. 

The Solution

After talking with the client, we came to the conclusion that a customized WordPress them would be the best route to take. It would need an events calendar and a donation gateway.

Before any development started, I created a few moldboards based on the info I got from the client. They wanted something that elicits emotion and reflects the core values of the CSC

Once a direction was approved and a theme was chosen, I proceed to modify the theme and add the branding assets. I had to jump in and write some custom PHP code to get the events calendar going, but it was pretty straightforward. We went with Donately for the donation gateway, which has a simple setup and good rates.

We were able to launch on time and under budget before the holidays, a big time for the year for center with respect to receiving donations. The client was overjoyed and the follow up we did a few months later showed an increase in the donations received compared to the same time a year earlier.
