Unlocking Pattern
The idea here was to give a bit more freedom to the user, but also giving a creative interaction. The approach was a secondary alternative to unlocking the device, since there was already fingerprint recognition, an etch-a-sketch like connection gives a playful result.
Leaving the home screen as minimal as possible with the user’s main applications and the drawer to be a intelligent adopter of habits will learn the pattens of our daily routines and assign according to that data
Messages & Quick Previewing
Leaving the focus on the primary items of the phone while allowing quick accessibility provides the user a seamless option to cycle through their message preview then tap quickly to reply.
Applying Widgets
Keeping in mind that this is an android foundation piece, we wanted to show the flexibility of the idea’s presented. As the user applies widget, the os would adapt based on the size and orientation. Going from a heavy, clear and descriptive call to action to a simple icon provides a wide range of versatility.
Other interactions taken into account for specific items like notification, my pocket, etc are quick accessible “widgets” or elements in the UI that would appear and operate differently. Giving the user more data or items quickly, this would most likely happen on a far left swipe and give you specific content based on the day or time of day.
