The success of this long-term project is mainlyattributable to the synergy of our client and this unique site. Afterpurchasing one half of the Grade 2 Listed building in the 1990’s, the clientscommissioned Foster + Partners to carry out a modern reworking of the internalspace. The Clients then purchased the second half of the building and set us the challenge of untangling the warren of spaces in this sectionto create an enlarged family home.

Ourproposals have expanded Foster’s original concept to create a unifying,coherent series of spaces, which embraces many of the intricacies of the Jacobeanbuilding and the drama of a modern intervention.
