During my internship in Huis Van Alijn in Gent I was really busy with other projects but I managed to finish a movie which is showing my style of drawing check here the full movie Also I liked the commission of a movie about smoking because I often draw smokers character in order to give an atmosphere of sensuality and mystery.
Talking a bit about the idea of the movie I decided to mix together what it was considered smoking in the 80s and what it is currently considered (2018). It was only from 2017 that the images from damages caused by smoke were obbligatory shown on cigarettes packages, before the 90s smoking was a social action which was allowed in every space and also you were allowed to smoke from a quite early age... for instance in the archive of Huis Van Alijn I saw several movies from the 80s where the family is giving the fist cigarette or the first cigare to their kid. With this short movie I wanted to use the old advertisement about smoke and the new messages in order to show the big gap there will always be between reality and marketing.
