Villain and sidekick character design - “Paul and Zak”

This is Paul. Sidekick character from a uni assignment where we had to create a villain and a sidekick. “Paul is Zak’s friend, drummer and sidekick, although he doesn’t really like being evil at heart. Paul can’t perform magic like Zak, as he was mainly studying arcane history and ancient alchemy at the same school as Zak. Paul could be better described as Zak’s personal bodyguard as he keeps getting him out of trouble. He gets tired of cleaning up after Zak and living in his filth as Zak is a bit of a lazy slob of a roommate. Picture Silent Bob, if he played in a heavy metal doom band with a stoner wizard and they lived together with the dreams of world domination.”

This is Zak. Villain character from uni assignment where we had to create a villain and a sidekick. “Zak is a villain, when he puts his mind to it or gets off the couch. He went to wizard school after leaving his parent’s castle, but flunked and dropped out. Now he works at a discount convenience store in customer service. Zak would be a protagonist/villain in the context of a full narrative; he’s trying to be evil and bad but he didn’t finish his black magic studies and can never remember basic enchantments or even simple spells. Although he can pull a couple party tricks on stage and can magically cook a burrito to perfection! Zak plays bass in a fantasy, stoner, psychedelic, heavy metal doom band, with his old and faithful room mate Paul on drums. They’ve got big dreams.”
